[UPDATE: February 13, 2021]

Dear Family and Friends,
It's hard to believe that nearly a year has gone by since we sent out a "Change The Date," shifting our wedding from June 27, 2020 to May 15, 2021. Back then, spring 2021 felt a long ways away. And while much of this past year felt like Groundhog Day, time ticked onward and spring is indeed coming, though not early according to Punxsutawney Phil (Pennsylvania's most famous groundhog).
We are looking forward to the days ahead, which promise more widespread vaccination, enabling us to gather together again. We are happy for our friends and family who have already received the vaccine and hope that many more of you will get your "freedom shot" soon. In that hopeful spirit, we have decided to move forward with the wedding at Camp Miller, where thankfully all activities and festivities will be outdoors.
We recognize the worries and complexities that come with bringing people together in this ever-evolving public health landscape and will do our best to keep the event safe.
To help us prepare for the weekend, we kindly request that you fill out this short survey by Saturday February 20th:

We anticipate that many of you will not be able or comfortable traveling as we navigate through this next phase of the pandemic. If you are unable to attend for any reason, pandemic related or not, please know we understand. We are grateful for your presence in our lives and look forward to celebrating, whether in person or in spirit, come May.
Hope springs eternal!
Love,
Emily and Lauren

Nearest and Dearest,

In the past several weeks, we have all suffered losses big and small: sports games, concerts, theatre tickets, birth plans, dinner parties, hugs and high fives, classroom teaching, happy hour(s), vacations, daily commutes, casual trips to the grocery store, and yes, much anticipated wedding dates.
We now wear masks, stay six feet apart, wash our hands longer and more frequently than we used to, wondering when this will end. We pray that our families and friends stay healthy. We look forward to the day when we can all be together, freely and joyfully, celebrating all the good.
When we envision our wedding, we see all of you. We see you playing and drinking and dancing and laughing and debating who makes the best biscuit (Bojangles vs Biscuitville). We see a Friday night pig pickin’ with ice cold beer, followed by a hot summer-like day when we say “I do” to this life, with all of you by our side. Mary Oliver reminds us that “joy is not made to be a crumb.” A big party with all our favorite people all together in one place? That’s a mountain of joy. Something worth waiting for. And so we’ll wait.
Please save the date for the hottest party of next spring: May 15, 2021.
Miss you and love you,
